Papaioannou More info Conferences Magnetism Conferences & Workshops 2014: Nanofair  APMAS  Magnetic Carriers  IMC Special Issue Journal of Nanomaterials on Magnetic Interfaces at the Nanoscale: From Fundamentals to Technological Aplications We invited investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles in understanding and insight of magnetic interfaces at the nanoscale. We were particularly interested in articles focusing on chemical and magnetic interface of nanostructured materials, to determine its influence on intrinsic magnetic properties (magnetic coupling and anisotropy), to trace the role of structure and intrinsic magnetic properties in macroscopic behavior of nanostructures. Lead Guest Editor: M. Angelakeris More info Job offer - NO longer available Positions are available for Post-doc researchers and PhD students with interest or experience in Magnetic Materials.  These positions involve experimental work in modern laboratories specialized in preparation of magnetic nanoparticles, such as FePt and Co-based compounds using 'wet'-chemical methods and in their magnetic and structural characterisation by employing techniques such as VSM, XRD and TEM. The whole project is supported by a European RTN program. Applicants for the post-doc position should have a PhD in Physics, Chemistry or similar scientific field and have some experience concerning synthesis and/or characterization of magnetic nanoparticles. According to the EC-rules, candidates for the post-doc position should not have research experience longer than 10 years, counting from the day they started their PhD study. Applicants for the pre- doctorate position should have a M.Sc in chemistry, physics or similar scientific field. Candidates for both positions should be national from a EC member state (apart from Greece), or from an Associated state (Associated states are: Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Norway or Switzerland.) The salaries will be according to the Marie-Curie rules. Employees of the Marie-Curie Research Training Networks enjoy special privileges such as a travel allowance, mobility allowance and career exploration allowance. Start Date: 15/1/2007 - Duration: min length: 6 months for Post-doc researchers and up to 19 months for Phd Students Contact Person: Dr. Makis Angelakeris, Department of Physics AUTh, Thessaloniki 54124- GREECE                           Tel.: +302310998169 Fax: +302310998172 agelaker@auth.gr , http://multigr.physics.auth.gr Place of Work: Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, 54 124 - Thessaloniki - GREECE Disciplines: Physics and Chemistry Sub Disciplines: synthesis and characterisation of magnetic nanoparticles
